Guess who will be in 2 in 8 days ?!?

Staying warm here in MI. Last night we took Brett to the library for a special Christmas program they were having where Xmas stories were read. Brett lasted about half an hour then we had to head downstairs to the toddler area. Made me feel better when another two year old and her mom were down there too. Anyway, we are getting excited to celebrate Xmas and of course Brett's 2nd birthday. Brett has been talking a lot about "Cin-ta" and is looking forward to all the presents. He even saw Santa at his playgroup last week and was brave enough to sit with Kristin while he said hi to Santa. It was funny to see the reaction of 2 and 3 year olds to Santa...from excitement to pure fright. Today Kristin and him made cut out Xmas cookies. While the car cut out is less car and more blob, they taste great nonetheless!

Halloween in Chelsea

Finally got some videos up of our little Lion. Both Kristin and I were worried Brett would not wear his Halloween costume. Not only did he wear it, he left the hood up the whole time. Drawing the whiskers on his face was another story. It was nice having Halloween on a Sunday because I wasn't rushed coming home from work and it seemed more people were out and handing out candy in Chelsea. We met up with the neighbors and pulled Brett and Abby in the wagon. Brett was a little shy at first collecting candy but warmed up to it as we went. Chelsea is feeling smaller and smaller as we ran into several families we knew and even got candy from the Police Department handing it out from their Police crusier.

At his freind Caroline's house after the trick or treating.

They set up games for the kids in the parking lot of the Chelsea Funeral Home. Brett was a little young for most of them but we did get some doughnuts and apple cider.

Getting ready to hit the streets!

We thought it would be fun for Brett to decorate his own pumpkin with markers.

Catching Up

I think I have 4 or 5 posts worth of new pictures and videos, so lots of catching up to do. I won't write too much and just let the pictures speak to how cute our little boy is!

It's a Jeep thing, must start him young

Grandpa and Grandma Bingham's visit

It was a perfect weather weekend when Grandpa and Grandma Bingham came to visit from Wisconsin. Brett had a lot of fun going to the Dexter Cider Mill, watching the Spartans win, going to our neighbor Abby's birthday party, and just plain hanging out.

Along the Huron River behind the Dexter Cider Mill. The doughnuts there are nothing short of amazing. Notice Grandpa in shorts..... in October, I think it hit high 70s that day!

Brett loves the Richard Scary books. Finding Goldbug or Lowly is his favorite part. He tends to find them before I do now because he has memorized where there are on all the pages.

....we have about 10 more like this because Brett tends not to sit still for pictures.

Tumbling Tots

Last Wednesday I met Kristin and Brett in Saline to go to his Tumbling Tots class. Basically, it is organized chaos. Brett was so cute running around the room. He definitely is an explorer. Notice in the videos how he likes to touch his hair, kind of his comfort thing I guess. Today was his last day of his class and he got a ballon, a medal, and a cookie. He's signed up for another six weeks so I'll have to try to attend another class with them.

First Post in a while

All is well in the Bingham household. Brett is keeping us busy but he is so much fun. I was gone a few days last week for work and when I got home I couldn't wait until he woke up so we could hangout. His vocabulary is taking off too. It's funny to hear his interpretation of some words. For example, TV = "tish", Annie = "Nam-ee", drink = "dink", truck = "tuck", and his toddler friend Caroline he calls "Keek". Basically, it's code we only understand!

As you can see, Kristin likes to do Art projects with Brett. His masterpieces adorn his door and are up in the kitchen. Too bad cleaning him takes longer than the Art project!

20 months old!

Most of you have seen these I but I had to put some of these up for those who haven't. As you can see Brett has been keeping busy this Summer with all kids of fun.

Like the cats, our son likes boxes.

He got this hat at a kids program that was going on in downtown Chelsea. Apparently, he was a little scared to get in the fire truck but loved his hat.

Sometimes, everyone just needs a hug. ...or in this case an alternative to Brett pushing Abby out of the way.

I love when we ask Brett what sound a train makes and he always does the up and down motion with his hand. Anyway, this is him in action with his tracks.

Him and I went down to the Chelsea car show this Summer.

Summer Baseball Game Pics

These pictures are from July but I wanted to get them up here. One of the highlights of the Summer was talking Brett to Witter Field in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. There is now a minor league baseball team in town, called the Rafters. It's their first season, and the first minor league baseball in town since I was a kid. I thought Brett would last only a couple of innnings but he lasted the entire game. We hung out in the huge sandbox they had and played in the log cabin and bouncy house on the first base side. We were lucky enough the rain held off the entire game and saw a great finish with the Rafters winning it in the 9th inning. The view from our great seats, saw a couple home runs too!

Brett was a little unsure of what to make of "Roscoe"

Before the game Brett saw "a ball" and one of the players came over, Brett threw it to him and then the player gave it back to Brett to keep. His first baseball souvey!

Lots to look at

Dance Fever

Both these videos are of Brett's great dance moves. He truly loves dancin' to music. Typically, only good music like classic rock gets him going. I'm pretty sure I dance like him now! The top video is my favorite. It was early on a Saturday morning and I decided to put on Stevie Ray Vaughn. The rest was all Brett!

WI Part III

Another 1 or 2 posts and I think I will have the bulk of the Wisconsin trip covered.
This weekend we were busy with our garage sale. We didn't make a ton of money but we got rid of some junk and met some interesting people! It's been super hot and muggy here so we've been trying to stay cool.
The another day Brett put two words together for the first time when he said "bye bye daddy" and today he said " one more"!

On July 4th chillin with daddy

Brett can't resist anything with water in it!

Playing ladder ball. We even got his Great Great Aunt Pat to throw a few.

A new view on life

His Grandma Mohler said she wants to take a picture of him with the angel every summer.

Wisconsin Vacation Part II

One evening we went over to Brett's Great Aunt Jackie's house for some good food and company. Brett had a blast over there riding the tractor, playing with the toys, and watching the farmer.

Jackie had gotten Brett those capsules that turn into dinosaurs when you drop them in water. Apparently you needed warm water because we waited forever not realizing this and dropped them in cold water. Eventually we had sponge dinosaurs!

Grandpa and Grandma Bingham started a tradition where Brett gets some goodies on his half birthday. Only those born close to Xmas get this special treatment!

Our Vacation Pictures

Things have finally settled down after our fun vacation in Wisconsin and SW Michigan. It's our annual trip over the 4th that we look forward to every year now. While we missed my brother, sister-n-law, and niece....we look forward to next year with 2 toddlers running around. Brett was a great traveler through it all and had a blast exploring all the new places. Weather was great so we really enjoyed being outside. I have a feeling when Brett gets older he will be asking when is the next trip to Wisconsin.

As other new parents can attest to, we took a ton of pictures. With so many highlights, I'll have to split it up over a few posts. Enjoy!

In the Wisconsin Dells, feeding the ducks.

We decided to play mini-golf (at least that's what we call it in WI). I had this vision of Brett actually putting with me, Kristin, my mom, and stepdad.....nope. Turned into one big toddler exploration. I think all 4 of us finished about 2 holes. Most shots Brett would grab the ball and either throw it in the bushes or water.

All of us headed down to the river with mom and Jim to check out "lunch by the river", and to harrass the ducks!

USA, USA, USA!

Mmmmmmmm, we loved the Jamaican jerk chicken!
