3rd Annual Neighborhood Boat Race!

A few weeks ago was the 3rd annual Lett's Creek boat race with our amazing friends and neighbors! This boat race is truly one of my most favorite things that our group of friends does each year and we look forward to it every spring!

Brett and Carolyn were all smiles on this beautiful day!

Some of the kids all lined up, waiting for the rest of the group to arrive!

Brett and his boat :-) He added the flowers on top so it would be easier to spot.

Camden wanted in on the action too, so Kyle quickly made him a little boat of his own.

Getting ready for the launch!

The group gets bigger every year!

Camden was quite content to sit back and watch all the action. I'm sure next year will be different though!

And they're off....

After keeping a close eye on their boats along the way, the kids ran to the bridge to watch them cross the finish line! And the best part? Every boat made it this year!

And lastly, a shot of ALL the happy kiddos :-) Such a fun day!!

Legoland!

On the way home from Wisconsin, we surprised the boys with a trip to Legoland in Chicago! We had always wanted to go and since we wanted to break up the drive on the way home, we figured this was the perfect opportunity. We had such a great time, and were in awe of the amazing layouts, animals, and structures built with Legos! So cool to see!

Need a specific brick? Any color or piece imaginable was here to add to your collection!

These layouts of Chicago were truly amazing!

Brett could barely look away for a photo....he was mesmerized and in the "Lego Zone". Ha!

Had to take this picture of the Chicago theater because Kyle and I got engaged while looking out at that sign from our hotel room years ago! Such wonderful memories that even Legos can bring back!

Love the lights!

After the layouts, it was time to explore the jungle!

All the animals were life size!

Then it was time to build and do some activities!

Brett spent a long time building this little house to add to one of the city layouts and was so proud :-)

Brett and his good friend, R2D2!

Roar!!!

My brother joined us at Legoland for a little bit and then we met him and Amy at a restaurant nearby for dinner. We were so happy they could join us since our plans were so last minute! After dinner they came back to our hotel with us and Kyle and I took turns hanging out with them at the hotel bar. We had a great day and are so glad we made this special detour!!
