Christmas!

Another wonderful Christmas is in the books! We started celebrating on the 23rd when Uncle Matt and Aunt Amy came to town by making cookies for Santa (which we *may* have forgotten to leave out this year...shhhh, don't tell the boys)! We had lots of fun decorating and then had yummy mac n cheese for dinner. It was a relaxing night which we needed in order to prepare for the craziness of Brett's birthday the next day and Christmas!

My dad was prepared this year....he wore his Santa hat all weekend!

Brett wasn't into decorating this year (he was having too much fun with Scout!), but Camden loved it!

Amy looked like a professional in my mom's apron!

The next day we celebrated Brett's birthday.... and then that night, when the boys were asleep, Kyle and I went to town wrapping presents. Then....BAM, Christmas morning was here!

Brett was so excited to get his favorite movie from Grandpa and Grandma Bingham..."The Secret Life of Pets". It's a household favorite now, and we've watched it too many times to count!

Grandma Mo knows the way to this little boy's heart....she gave him his very own mixer! He didn't put that thing down for days :-)

LEGOS!! Still Brett's very favorite activity!

Another favorite for Camden? His new fireman costume!!

Like last year, Brett went shopping for us at the children's bazaar where everything is homemade and $5 or under. You can't tell in this picture, but I am holding up a beautiful necklace he picked out for me :-) He knows I love jewelry! He also got Kyle a box covered in maps, a horse for Camden, a pretty decorative pillow for my mom, and a mug with hot chocolate in it for my dad. He is a good shopper and know's what we all like!

Kyle sportin' his new Badger gear!

Yep, more legos! This was another 'Lego Christmas' for Brett and he was over the moon!

Camden took a break from opening presents to play with his new soccer ball from Uncle Jason and Aunt Megan....

...and to explore his new play-doh set!

Love these two more than words could ever say!!

Kyle showing off his box from Brett. Pretty cool, huh?

Later in the day we headed to my parent's house to celebrate with the rest of the fam. We started out with appetizers and drinks and then it was time for presents! Brett chose the seat next to my parent's mini Christmas tree, the one my mom dubbed "The Charlie Brown tree". She spruced it up well and I thought it was adorable....and beautiful!

Love this pic of my dad! He is always so happy when we are all togther!

Classic picture of a little boy with a bad cold....his nose didn't stop running all night :-(

My brother loved the old barometer that was our grandfathers....and I love that my mom saved all these interesting things to pass on to us!

More Legos for our 'Lego boy'! Thank you Uncle Matt!

Kyle loves to cook and experiment with different tastes... so these spices were a huge hit!

Who doesn't want to save a dime? My mom loves her new book!

After presents, we munched on more appetizers while we waited....and waited....for the turkey to fully cook (it took way longer than the directions!) before finally mowing on our Christmas dinner (stuffed turkey, cheesy potatoes, and roasted brussel sprouts - yum!!). Then it was time to just relax and enjoy each other :-)

Snuggles with "Yaya"......what more could be better? I love this pic so much!

Trying on Uncle Matt's shoes.....in his pajama pants. Too cute!

Both Kyle and my dad love playing the guitar....so some jammin'was in order! Go dad!

We ended up forgoing the annual birthday sparklers (to celebrate my brother and Brett) because the boys were just too tired by the end of the night. I was disappointed, but exhausted myself....so note to self....do them earlier in the night next year! We had another wonderful holiday and I realize, yet again, how much we have to be thankful for. Presents are fun, but family is everything. Love you all!!

Brett's 8th Birthday!

Our December 24th, our Christmas eve baby officially turned eight years old!!! WOW! Brett had literally been talking about his birthday for the past 2 or 3 months, so to say he was over the moon with excitement when the day finally came is an understatement! His handsome smile rarely left his face, and enjoyed his lego filled day to the fullest!!! He spent most of the day in his pajama pants, putting his new lego sets together, eating his favorite foods (pancakes for breakfast, brats for lunch, and Jet's pizza for dinner), and basking in a day that was all about him!

Since Brett had been up since 6:30(!), an afternoon rest time was in order. Complete with computer time and balloons :-)

That evening, my parents, brother, and sister in law came over for a mini celebration full of more presents, pizza, and CAKE!

Silly Papa!

"Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you".....

Don't forget to make a wish!

Camden wanted to blow out candles too... so my mom improvised :-)

Do you think his piece was big enough?

The sugar high set in fast!

We love you Brett Zachary!!

I always tell Brett that he was the best Christmas present we ever got, and boy is that the truth! He made our dreams come true and nothing could ever top the joy I felt when he was placed in my arms for the very first time. He was our Christmas miracle!
