Another warm day in MI as I am sure it was where you all were too. No green beer for us or green breast milk for Brett. Just hanging out in the backyard. I'm squinting in the video because I was looking right into the sun.

Hola
Spring is teasing us again this weekend. Let's see if we can keep it. Brett is sitting next to me as I type, talking away. Kristin had a lot of fun at her Mom/Baby class this week. They group you with babies who are around the same age. She had nothing but good things to say about it and it will be cool for her to meet more moms. I'm sure if you want she can fill you in more about it. Hope everyone enjoys the wknd. We are heading out tonight with Brett to Troy, MI to see some friends.

Brett Update
Kristin and Brett have had a busy week visiting Kristin's cousin Katie and her son and visitors Melanie and the girls to the house. Today she is off to a Mother/Baby class in Ann Arbor. I'm sure Brett is making friends as we speak. Yesterday morning he rolled over four times in a row! Not sure when babies are supposed to start crawling but that will be a fun next step. On Saturday we are going to Royal Oak to hangout with a group of friends. There should be other kids running around so I am expecting caos but it should be fun. I don't want to give it away but I have a pretty funny video to post tonight when I get home.

ROLL-OVER Caught on tape!
I was driving to work today and Kristin called and said "guess what your son did?"....."He rolled over for the first time!" She was able to catch it on video later in the day and he did it for me once when I got home. As parents we are so excited and proud of Brett! Enjoy!

Spring is here (atleast for a day)
I had to go to California this week for work, so it was my first trip away from the family since Brett was born. I took Wed. off so we could hangout before I flew out. It was a quick turnaround trip which was tough on so little sleep and the 3 hour time change. On my way out it was kind of funny, former Olympic skater Brain Botiano was on the plane and all the flight attendants were ga-ga over him. Today I worked from home so I could catch up on my sleep after getting in at 5am. Kristin and our neighbor Laura met up and took Abigail and Brett on a walk. I took him on one later in the afternoon.

Brett's 2-Month Check-Up
Brett had his 2-month check-up yesterday (I misspoke in my latest blog) and I wanted to fill everyone in how he is doing. Well, he now weighs 12 lbs. 9 oz. which far exceeds what Kristin and I thought. I think last time he was around 9lbs. It shows he is a healthly little baby boy. In terms of percentiles, this put him in the 59th. Basically, he is being charted vs. his age for males in the U.S. A 50th percentile means he would be average. His length was measured too and he is now 23" long. I think before (at 1 month) he was around 21 inches long. This is now the 40th percentile. We did make an appt. with a eye specialist about his birthmark because we want to make sure it isn't getting too close to his eye. I believe that appt. is in May. Again, the Dr. said to monitor it and didn't seem overly concerned. At this appt. he also had two vaccines. They administer it in his little legs. He cried afterwards but we brought a bottle of milk which comforted him. We are spreading out the vaccines for peace of mind. We just feel a baby is so small and precious and shouldn't get a bunch of shots at one appt.
Brett has also been smiling more and more lately. The other day I tried to capture a good one on video but of course he only did it when I put down the camera. Sleeping and naps at times feels like a struggle but that is part of the fun of breastfed babies. Kristin is soooo good with him that I can't imagine him in day care.
