We love the small towns up north and always have such a great time eating out, shopping, playing on the playgrounds, and checking out the cool things each area has to offer! Here are some pictures from our adventures :-)
The boys love the playground in Frankfort! My favorite part is the harbor in the background :-)
Camden tries to do everything his big brother does!
Love that angelic face!
After playing, it was time to check out the harbor!
I really love this photo because it is so candid. I had sat down to chat with my mom on the phone for a few minutes and the boys joined me on the bench. I love how Brett is resting his head on my lap and Camden has his little hand on his big brother. Such a great snapshot into our life at that moment :-)
The boys loved this cool red fishing boat!
We love eating outside with the water in the background!
And this little guy keeps us on our toes! No relaxing meal when he is around! We did distract him for a little while with his own big cup of water and a lime.... and yes, he actually tasted it!
One afternoon was spent in Glen Arbor, a favorite of ours that we visit every time we are up north!
Here I am with my boys outside the famous souvinir shop, The Totem Pole. I grew up finding treasures there every summer and it makes me so happy to take my own boys there now!
After walking around the town and shopping for a bit, we went to one of our favorite outdoor restaurants for lunch. Camden was in rare form and we had to eat fast, but we still managed to have a good time and snap a a few pics!
Love those big blue eyes!
The plastic ware entertained him for about 5 minutes..
Look at this handsome boy!! He is growing up before my very eyes.
The next couple pictures Brett took. He is quite the photographer!
The outdoor restaurant we ate at....isn't it cool? Would love to go there some night without kids!
After lunch, I stayed with the boys while Kyle ran to a nearby store to grab a T-shirt. Brett filled the time by playing Pokemon Go while Camden was just happy to people watch and hold his new shovel from the Totem Pole!
We had such a wonderful time up north and the quality time together was priceless. I will admit that is was a little crazier this year because Camden is literally into everything but seeing the joy on the boys faces makes all the hardships of traveling with a toddler worth it. A friend once said to me, "when you have small children there is no such thing as a 'vacation'. It's just a 'trip'. That statement could not be more true for us but never the less, we will continue taking these "trips" because they are well worth the excitement and sense of adventure it brings to all of us :-)
